Drywall Installation Vancouver
New walls, ceilings, basement finishing and garage conversions. Boarded, taped, mudded, textured and painted by one crew, so the seams disappear. 5-year warranty.

Boarding, Taping and Painting by One Vancouver Crew
The reason new drywall so often looks wavy or shows seams is that three different trades touched it. A framer, a boarder, a taper and a painter each blame the last guy. We do the whole sequence, so the wall that gets painted is the wall we taped, and the finish is on us.
Most of our drywall work is basement finishing, which is the biggest untapped square footage in Vancouver homes. Suites, rec rooms, home offices and gyms. We board, tape to the level of finish you want, prime and paint, ready to live in.
We also handle new walls and partitions, ceiling replacement after a leak, garage-to-living conversions, closet and laundry builds, and patching large openings left by removed walls or old soffits.
Every job ends in paint. The drywall is taped, sanded, primed and finished in your colour by the same crew, so you are not left with bare board and a second contractor to chase.

The Drywall Sequence Done Properly
Six steps from bare studs to a painted wall, run by one crew so nothing falls between trades.
-
Measure, plan and protect. We confirm framing, electrical and insulation are ready, then protect floors and adjacent rooms before any board goes up.
-
Hang the board.Moisture-resistant board in bathrooms and basements, standard elsewhere, screwed to spec with staggered seams so cracks do not telegraph later.
-
Tape and mud the joints.Three coats of compound over tape, each sanded, so the seams flatten out invisibly instead of showing as ridges under paint.
-
Sand to a clean finish level. We sand to the finish level the room needs, smooth Level 5 under critical lighting, standard elsewhere, and dust-control as we go.
-
Prime the new board.Bare drywall and joint compound soak up paint unevenly. A drywall primer seals it so the colour goes on uniform, with no flashing at the seams.
-
Texture and paint.Knockdown, orange-peel or smooth to match the rest of the home, then two finish coats in your colour. Move-in ready.

Why Vancouver Owners Choose Us for Drywall
One Crew, Board to Paint
We hang, tape, sand, prime and paint. No handing off between trades, no blame, no wavy wall that nobody owns. The finish is on us, start to finish.
Moisture-Smart for Vancouver
Basements and bathrooms get moisture-resistant board as standard. In a wet climate that is not an upgrade, it is the right way to build.
Seams That Disappear
Three coats over tape, sanded properly, primed before paint. That is why our walls read flat under light instead of showing every joint.
Texture Matched to Your Home
Knockdown, orange-peel or smooth, matched to the rest of the house so a new wall or patch blends in instead of standing out.
Dust Controlled
Drywall sanding is the messiest part. We contain and control the dust so the rest of your home stays livable while we work.
5-Year Written Warranty
Our drywall and finish work is backed in writing for cracking and finish failure on what we built and painted.
Vancouver Drywall Installation Price Ranges

9 Vancouver Drywall Tips Worth Knowing
- Use moisture-resistant board in basements. Vancouver basements deal with humidity and the odd leak. Standard board grows mould; moisture-resistant board is the right call below grade, not an upsell.
- One crew board-to-paint avoids wavy walls. Most bad drywall finishes come from trades handing off and blaming each other. When the crew that tapes also paints, the wall is finished to one standard.
- Prime bare board before colour. New drywall and joint compound absorb paint at different rates. Without a drywall primer the seams flash through as shiny lines under the finish coat.
- Three coats of mud, not one. Flat seams take three thin coats over the tape, each sanded. One thick coat shrinks, cracks and telegraphs the joint through the paint.
- Match the texture to the rest of the house. A smooth new wall next to knockdown ceilings looks like a patch. We match the existing texture so additions and repairs blend in.
- Sort electrical and insulation before board. Outlets, wiring and insulation have to be inspected and in before the board goes up. Boarding too early means tearing it back out.
- Level 5 only where the light is critical. Walls in raking light or with gloss paint need a Level 5 skim. Standard rooms do not, and paying for Level 5 everywhere is wasted money.
- Control the dust or it goes everywhere. Drywall sanding dust travels through a whole house. Containment and dust control keep the rest of your home livable during the job.
- Let mud dry fully between coats. Vancouver humidity slows drying. Rushing the next coat over damp compound causes cracking later. We let each coat cure before the next.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you do the whole job or just hang the drywall? +
The whole job. We hang the board, tape and mud the seams, sand, prime, texture to match and paint in your colour, all with one crew. That is the point. When the same team that tapes also paints, you do not get the wavy walls and visible seams that come from trades handing off and blaming each other.
Do you finish basements? +
Yes, it is most of our drywall work. Basements are the biggest untapped square footage in Vancouver homes, so we board, tape, prime and paint suites, rec rooms, offices and gyms. We use moisture-resistant board below grade as standard, which matters in a wet, humid climate, and we work to a code-aware layout.
What is the difference between drywall finish levels? +
Finish level is how smooth the surface is taken. Standard rooms get a normal taped-and-sanded finish. Walls in critical raking light, or under gloss paint, get a Level 5 skim coat for a flawless surface. We finish to the level each room actually needs rather than charging Level 5 everywhere, which is wasted money in most spaces.
Can you match the texture on my existing walls and ceilings? +
Yes. Whether your home has knockdown, orange-peel or smooth walls, we match the texture so a new wall, ceiling or patch blends in instead of standing out as an obvious repair. Mismatched texture is the most common reason a patch looks like a patch, so we take the time to get it right.
How messy is drywall work? +
Sanding is the messy part, and the dust travels through a whole house if it is not controlled. We set up containment and dust control so the rest of your home stays livable during the job. On larger basement and suite projects we phase the work so you keep using the parts of the home we are not in.
Do you handle ceilings damaged by a leak? +
Yes. We remove the damaged board, confirm the source of the leak is dealt with, re-board, finish flat or textured to match, and seal with a stain-blocking primer so old water stains do not bleed through. Then we paint with a ceiling-grade product for an even, uniform finish.
Do you do the framing and electrical too? +
We focus on the drywall and finishing. Framing and electrical are quoted and handled separately, and they need to be inspected and complete before we board. We are happy to coordinate timing so the sequence runs smoothly and you are not waiting between trades.
Is the drywall work guaranteed? +
Yes. Our 5-year written workmanship warranty covers cracking and finish failure on the drywall we installed and painted. Proper taping, full dry times between coats and priming before paint are what prevent the cracks and seam flashing that show up on rushed jobs, and our work is backed in writing.
