About Shaughnessy
Shaughnessy runs from 16th Avenue south to 41st Avenue, between East Boulevard on the west and Oak Street on the east. The Canadian Pacific Railway created the neighbourhood in 1907, and First Shaughnessy is the older section north of King Edward Avenue. About half the homes were built before or during World War II, against less than a quarter for the city overall. Angus Drive and Osler Street have tree-lined medians, and the Arbutus Greenway runs along the western edge from 41st to 16th. VanDusen Botanical Garden on Oak Street is one of the five parks the City lists in Shaughnessy.
