About Marpole
Marpole runs from 57th Avenue south to the Fraser River, between Angus Drive and Ontario Street. The Great Marpole Midden, an ancient Musqueam village site, became a National Historic Site in 1933. The area took its name from Richard Marpole in 1916 and joined Vancouver in 1929. Most of the shops are on the south end of Granville Street, and Marine Drive station on the Canada Line sits at Cambie and Marine Drive.
